Floy Norene Lawson, age 86 of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away May 8, 2017, in Cordell. She was born on January 14, 1931, in Cordell, to Thomas Nathanial and Ruby Rose (Downs) Scoggin. On April 24, 1961, Norene married Ernest Albert Lawson, Jr., in Sinton, Texas. They moved to Pack Saddle, Oklahoma, and Ernest worked in the Oilfield. After several years in Western Oklahoma they moved their family to Prague, and started their own business called WESCO. From Prague they moved to Enid and then on to Watonga, where Ernest worked for Johnson Construction for 30 years. Norene worked as an accountant and a beautician, owning her own beauty shop in Hobart and later in Cordell for several years. Her survivors include son, Trey Lawson; son, Spencer Lawson and wife, Amy; daughter, Wendy Rogers; brother, Lenny Dunn and wife, Sharon; sister, Joy Hoover; sister, Sherri Dunn; grandchildren, Ashley Lawson, Zachary and Michelle Duke, Shayna Ernst, Rocky Rogers II, Brooklyn and Austin Burkeen; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kevin, Zach, Gloriana, Ava, Amari, Ayva and Adaline; other family members; and many friends. Norene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Tommy. Visitation for Norene was held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., on both Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12. Funeral services were held on May 13, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at the 4th & College Church of Christ in Cordell, interment followed at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.
