
Howard C. Richey born on August 22, 1926, in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, to Howard and Grace Richey. He passed away from this life on May 5, 2017. Howard was raised on a small farm at Cloud Chief and was always working hard. He attended high school at Lake Valley, Oklahoma, and played basketball and baseball while in school. Howard graduated high school in 1944, shortly afterwards he enlisted in the Merchant Marines and then was drafted into the Army. While in the service he traveled to England and was stationed in Alaska and Japan. After the service he entered college at South Western State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1950. He taught school and coached for 34 years in Oklahoma, Texas, and California. In 1966 he married Marilyn Hardwick. In their 50 years of marriage they took many trips around the country and overseas, always having a great time. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his parents; and his brother, Robert (Bob) Richey. Howard is survived by his sister, Mary Ruth Duvall of Borger, Texas; two nieces and two nephews, Alan Richey of George Town, Texas, Cheryl Richey of Louisville, Texas, David Duvall of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and Suzanne Duvall of Borger Texas; step-daughter, Marsha Hardwick Harris Snow of Hemet, California; and stepson, Ross Hardwick of Captain Cook, Hawaii. The family would like to thank Dr. Ron and Carolyn Tyler of Camarillo, California, for being such great friends to Howard and Marilyn. Thank you for your love and support. A visitation was held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Miller-Jones Mortuary; 1501 W. Florida Ave. Hemet, California 92543.
