
Funeral Services for Leona Willis, 94, Cordell resident will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017, in Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Doyle Kinney. Burial will conclude in the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Leona Marjean (Lee) Willis was born on June 24, 1923, to Kelso Lee and Ira Elizabeth (Hawkins) Lee in Gotebo, Oklahoma, and passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. Leona was raised in Lake Valley, and she also attended Lake Valley School. She married Shirley Willis August 5, 1939, in Clinton. They made their home in Cordell and together they owned and operated the Rite Way Laundry for over 35 years. She also was the head cook for Cordell School for ten years. She had most recently lived in Clinton to be close to her family. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Cordell and had attended the First Christian Church in Clinton. She loved to do hand work, crocheting, and knitting; she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990; her parents; son, Darryl Willis; grandson, Joey Lee; two brothers, Loys Lee and Lem Lee; and sister, Peggy Pierce. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Kenney and husband, Max; Peggy Lee and husband, Jack, both of Clinton; son Gary Willis and wife, Ann, Edmond. She is survived by six grandchildren, Michael Wayne Dodd and wife, Brenda, Delia Young, Chris Willis, Clint Goetz, Jeremy Willis and wife, Rachel, Jennifer Lee and spouse, Shane Sells and Melissa Rodriguez and husband, Tido and 16 great-grandchildren.
