Jack Lee Brownfield passed away peacefully at his home in Fairview, Texas, on July 27, 2017. He was 70 years old. He was born on October 29, 1946, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Gordan and Ann (Taggart) Brownfield. Jack graduated from Cordell High School in 1964. Following graduation, he attended Southwest Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 1968 with a degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduating college, Jack moved to Dallas, Texas, and started his career in the insurance industry. He married Dorcas A. Buchanan on January 18, 1992, in Irving, Texas. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dorcas Brownfield of Fairview; daughter, Leah Wood and husband, J.P. of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Grace and Carter Wood; step-son, Matt Buchanan and wife, Anne of Carbondale, Colorado; granddaughters, Billie Buchanan and Madilyn Buchanan; brother-in-law, Clayton Scarborough and wife, Bonnie of Pilot Point, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Gordan and Ann Brownfield; and son, Brian Lee Brownfield. A memorial service was held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
