
Sidney E. Deputy, age 81, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 after battling Parkinson’s. Visitation will be at the home of Kay Deputy, Thursday, November 30, from 6 – 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 2, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount, in Amarillo, TX. Sid was born September 22, 1936, in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. He graduated from Cordell High School in Cordell, Oklahoma. Sid married Kay McKibbin in July 1957, in Dumas, Texas, They moved to Amarillo in 1958, where he lived and worked most of his life. He worked for the United States Postal Service from 1963 – 1969. Sid graduated from WTSU in 1971, and began teaching at Highland Park School until he retired in 1997. Sid loved his family, camping, and fishing. He and Kay spent most summer months each year camping in Durango, Colorado. They also enjoyed taking cruises to various places. Sid is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay, and children; Diana Christian and husband Joe, Lisa Malone and husband Todd, and Kurt Deputy and wife Tonya, along with ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. Sid was preceded in death by three brothers; William, Robert, and Lloyd. Also preceding him are two granddaughters; Mikenze and Gracie Deputy.
