
Gene Dee Patton, 87, of Burns Flat, Oklahoma passed away January 22, 2018 at Cordell Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born on July 25, 1930, on the family farm near Putnam, Oklahoma, to Ervin Virgil and Ionia Anna (Dilocker) Patton. Gene graduated in 1948 from Independence School, which was located between Custer and Putnam. He married the love of his life, Vanda Davis, on August 28, 1954, in Thomas, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army. Gene studied electronics and graduated from the Okmulgee Vocational School. After graduation, he went to work at Convair where he worked on the B-58 bomber. After that he owned and operated Gene’s TV Sales and Service in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. He also worked at MODA and retired from Wagner. After retirement, Gene taught a knife making course at the Burns Flat Vo-Tech. He enjoyed knife making and wood working. He also enjoyed going to the coffee shop to see his friends. Gene and Vanda had been happily married for 63 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Vanda Patton of the home, two sons, Lorin Patton and wife, Cassie of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; Terry Patton and wife, Debbie of Cordell, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Valerie Farrar and husband, Anthony of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Steven Patton and wife, Martha of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; Kate Patton of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; and Jenna Patton of Cordell, Oklahoma; and six great-grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Nevaeh, Christopher, Wyatt, and Cloe. He is also survived by one brother, Orin Patton and wife, Barbara of Leedy, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents
