Melinda Lou Moore was born August 15, 1937, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Ella and Clarence Jensen and passed away April 27, 2018 in the Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 12 days. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Union-Hatchett Cemetery in Bessie, OK with officiant Donald K. Moore. Linda was raised in and around Council Bluffs and attended the Iowa School for the Deaf. When she was 25 years old, she went to Burns Flat to visit her cousin. Linda was introduced to the man she would marry. She married Jesse Leon Moore on June 17, 1962 in Elk City, OK and they lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa for a short time before moving back to Foss to make their home and raise their family. Linda was a homemaker, quilter, loved to crochet, and was devoted to her family. Linda moved to Buckeye, Arizona in 2007 to be near her oldest daughter, Candy McCain. Linda then moved to Glen Haven Nursing Home, Glenwood, Iowa, after suffering a stroke and to be near Melody Ragland, daughter. She was a member of the Elk City United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step-father, Leroy Pont; son-in-law, Tony Carroll; and 2 brothers-inlaw, James C. Moore and William P. Moore. Linda is survived by her 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Candy and Don McCain of Buckeye, AZ, Melody Ragland of Glenwood, IA, Kathleen and Richard Kamphaus of Whitesboro, TX, Ruthann Carroll of Cleburne, TX, and Sharon and Rod McKone of Burns Flat, OK; 9 grandchildren, Troy, Debra, James, Beau, Rebecca, Traci, Beth, Sarah, and Hannah; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; special companion David Long of Glenwood, IA, and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Glen Haven Nursing Home, Glenwood, Iowa.
