Holly Lynn Holman was born January 5th, 1973 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She passed away June 6th, 2018 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Holly was the youngest of three children born to Billy Ray and Rosetta Holman. She was several years younger than her siblings and soon earned the titled “Spoiled” by all. Holly was a very sweet and mischievous child. She loved being the center of attention and could always wrap everyone around her little finger. Animals was one of Holly’s greatest passions. She could always be seen carrying around a puppy from her Dad’s kennels. She worked with her dad helping him at the kennels off and on during her life. She had a cat named Max that she adored. She became ill and wasn’t able to care for him any longer and worried about him until she found a good home and was loved as she loved him. Holly enjoyed bead work and spent many hours making key chains and jewelry. The bead work was a source of peace and tranquility for her. She would pray for someone different everyday while she was at peace. Holly collected angels of all shapes and sizes and sometimes would write poems about them. The poetry was another way for Holly to find peace. She entered a poetry writing contest and was so happy when she won. Some of her poems have been published. Holly and her mother Rosetta lived in Weatherford for a while as she attended high school. After graduation she attended college for a short time, then later went to work at Walmart. Holly loved her family and loved all the time she spent with her Aunts and Uncles. Holly spent all the time she could on the road with her Dad shipping puppies and attending bluegrass festivals. While at the festivals she became acquainted with a lot of band members and listened to bluegrass all the time. She cared for older people and when she felt them on her mind she would say a prayer and hoped they were having a good day. Anyone who knew Holly could always count on at least two things: She would be wearing jewelry from head to toe and had a never ending supply of candy for herself and friends. Holly’s life was not meant to be long. She has good memories, but as life went on her illness seemed to be too great. She knew in her heart that she had to be taken care of and accepted it. She could no longer live at home, but was able to talk to her mother on the phone several times a week. Her sister Marilyn would do all of Holly’s shopping for her and visit Holly when she was well enough for visitors. Rosetta was able to go see Holly as long as her health would allow, but when they were no longer able to meet their phones calls kept each other going. Marilyn would set up the calls and the three of them would visit often. The last year of Holly’s life was a struggle, but when God says it is enough, it’s enough. Holly will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. She is survived by her mother, Rosetta Rhodes of Cordell, Oklahoma; Her sister: Marilyn Holman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her guardian, Dwan Elston and husband Dickie of Rocky, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her Father, Billy Ray Holman and her Brother, Terrell Holman. Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 and 1:00 p.m., ~ 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell, Oklahoma.
