Norman John “Sonny” Parsons, died Saturday November 3, 2018 in Corn, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Sonny was born April 21, 1935 in Los Angeles, California to John Decatur and Alberta (Donohoe) Parsons. Sonny graduated from Elk City High School. He served in the Untied States Army where he attained the rank of Specialist Third Class. In 1960 he met and married the love of his life, Sandra Sue Hein in Kermit, Texas. Sonny worked many years in the oil field and as a truck driver and raised his family in Texas and Oklahoma , residing in Cordell for many years Sonny enjoyed showing horses with his two daughters Lorrie and Rhonda and he was always proud of Michelle’s academic accomplishments in school and band. He loved to go sailing,build models, restoring his 1951 Willy’s Jeep, and in his later years he decided to start a new hobby, Dirt Track racing with his son Manny. Sonny also loved playing guitar with the boys and loved calling football and basketball games with Dudley Simpson. The last couple of years, Sonny was blessed with an extended family at the Judah Thrift Store. He really enjoyed going to work each day and spending time with the people there. But most of all he loved spending time with Sue and his dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Lou Standlee and Phyllis Smith. He is survived by his wife Sue of the home. One son, Manny Parsons and wife Sherri. Three daughters; Lorrie Rodriguez, Rhonda Langford, and Michelle Parsons. Two sisters; Kathy Koonce and Stacy Harrel. Grandchildren; Brittin, Danny Joe, Gabbie, Josh, Kylie, Brayden, Sam, Christina, Johnny Lee, and Laura. 12 Great Grandchildren. His Judah Thrift Store Family and his special dog “Tucker”. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at The Judah House Of Praise in Cordell, Oklahoma under the direction of Affordable Cremation Service
