In Loving Memory of.... Walter Lee Teel

Walter Lee Teel, 93, of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2018 at the Cordell Hospital.

Walter was born on August 7th, 1925 to Willis and Rosa (Kimmel) Teel in a farm house south of Cordell, Oklahoma.

Walter attended school at Port School and graduated from Sentinel High School in 1943.

He married the love of his life Dortha Marie Rivers on September 2, 1951 at the South Burns Church of Christ in Dill City, Oklahoma. Walter worked as a Night Watch-man at the gym in Burns Flat, he worked as a Janitor at the Vo-Tech in Burns Flat and the TG&Y and Turkey Plant in Clinton, Oklahoma and he also owned and operated Teel’s Greenhouse.

Walter loved growing things, his first greenhouse was an 8’ x 10’ shed he built in 1974 and eventually turned into part of his farm.

Walter loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife; Dortha Marie (Rivers) Teel, daughter; Linda Bak-er, Three brothers; Travis Teel, Glen Teel, and Marvin Teel, Two sisters; Winnie Goucher and Vera Church

Survivors include three Children; Terry Teel and wife Jan of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; Donnie Teel and wife Lisa of Dallas, Texas; Nelda Clanahan of Tyler, Texas; Eight Grandchildren; Seven Great Grandchildren, Sister, Ladonia Smith of Dill City, Oklahoma and Brother Dee Teel of Plainview, Texas.

A funeral service was held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Plains Avenue Church of Christ in Dill City, Oklahoma under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
