
Funeral services for Leta Sue Goeringer, 71, of Foss were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Goeringer died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford.
She was born Oct. 3, 1947, to J.C. Miller and Nelma Leona (Spradling) Miller in Ardmore. She was raised in Lone Groove and graduated from high school in 1966.
On Sept. 6, 1968, she married Eldon Goeringer in Lone Groove.
The couple made homes in Ardmore, Lawton, Oklahoma City, Piedmont and Foss.
Goeringer did bookkeeping, and she helped her husband farm for several years. She was a long-time and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of WELCA women’s group and an avid supporter and participatant in the Oklahoma Via-De Christo group.
She was preceded in death by her father and son Eugene.
Survivors include husband of the home, daughter Sarah Ann Goeringer Baker of Piedmont, son Darrell Gene Goeringer of Burns Flat; two sisters, Linda Faye Hunt and Marlene Hudson both of Lone Groove; and brother, Wayne Miller of Hilton.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Joshua Goeringer of Elk City, Jacob Goeringer of Piedmont, Susan Goeringer of Burns Flat, Olivia Jacee Baker, and Luke Baker, both of Piedmont.
The family met and greeted visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the eve before Leta’s funeral.
The service was officiated by Pastor Jerry Lamb. Burial followed at Hatchet Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau Lee Funeral Home.
