Melba Faye Dudgeon 87, of Burns Flat

Melba Faye Dudgeon, 87, of Burns Flat, was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Foss. She is the daughter of Olin Ragland Haggard and Bertha Corrine Tallifero. She made her way to heaven on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, surrounded by her loving family.

Melba married her best friend and sweetheart, Albert Lawrence Dudgeon January 1, 1950, in Burns Flat. He preceded her in death June 25, 2017.

She enjoyed her family, she was a wonderful mother, care taker and cook. She also had a special bond with children.

Melba was an active member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat, where she taught Sunday school and was involved in the women’s group.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat. Rev. Jim Fisk will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Duawn Mearns. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City.

Cherishing her memory is her daughter, Nancy Arrington of Shawnee; son, Terrance Dudgeon and his wife, Vickey of Norman; four grandchildren, Ami Sinibaldi and her husband, Larry of Orlando, Fla., Sean Dudgeon and his wife, Jennifer of Norman, Kara McInnis and her husband, David of Lawton, Kyle Dudgeon and his girlfriend, Delanie of Norman; three great-grandchildren, Madelynn Dudgeon, Cole Dudgeon and Charlie Jean Dudgeon all of Norman; and one sister, Doris Ann Kennemer of Burns Flat.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lawrence Dudgeon; parents, Olin and Bertha Haggard.

Memorials can be made to the Burns Flat Education-Foundation, in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.
