Sammie Ira Kissner 84, of Fort Worth, Texas

Sammie Ira Kissner, 84, a retired forklift driver, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019.

Graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd, Texas.

Sammie was born June 6, 1934, to Carl and Lavada (Camp) Kissner in Cordell. He was a forklift driver for many years at General Motors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Brandon Cole Woolsey; his brothers, Eddie and Billy Kissner; and his sister, Margaret Brown.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Vicki Barry and husband Aaron of Zillah, Wash., Cindy Kissner of Fort Worth, Texas, and Debbie Kissner Myers of Hillsboro; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Stacey, Veronica, Paul, Meagan, and Michelle; his 13 great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Roger Kissner and wife Martha of Oklahoma; his sister, Patti Albert and husband Chuck of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and his faithful companion, Harry, his Shitzu.

Bessie May Godsell Powers, 88, died Jan. 15, 2019, in Tulsa. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at the Highland Park Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Mustang Cemetery in Mustang. Strode Funeral and Cremation is in charge of the service.
