LaRita Kaye Dawson Couch was born April 18, 1937, to parents LaNora Alma Wright and Allan Cline Dawson in Hobart. She was raised in Port and Putnam City, attending schools in Port, Putnam City, and later Oklahoma Baptist University. LaRita married Jim C. Couch, M.D. and they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Norman.
LaRita is survived by her husband Jim and children Jeffrey Alan Couch and his wife Susan, Carol Renee Thompson and husband Craig, and Cynthia Kaye Rodriguez and husband Jose; daughter-in-law Melissa Couch; sister Betty Yvonne Dawson Bishop Wolfard and husband Robert; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and close family friends Julie Crawford and Roscoe Buckley, who she helped raise.
Preceding LaRita in death are son Steven Thomas Couch, grandson Jay Alexander Couch, brother Johnie William Dawson, and her parents.
Family and friends are invited to Tribute Memorial Care in Norman (708 24th Ave NW, 405.292.4787) for visitation on Wednesday, February 19th from 5:00-7:00 pm. Private family services will be held graveside at Port Cemetery in Sentinel, Oklahoma.
