
Arthur “Art” or “Ott” Leroy Hackler 89, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2019, in Durant. He was born June 18, 1929, in Clinton, to the late Arthur Loyd Hackler and Sarah “Golden” Demory Hackler.
Art was raised in Cowden, where he graduated high school. He was the owner and president of Severin Supply Company in Oklahoma City, where he managed the company’s four auto part stores. He served a term as Vice President of the Automotive Wholesalers of Oklahoma and received a number of awards in the auto parts industry. He also had investments in other small businesses, land, cattle and quarter horses.
Art married Edna Lou Rainbow on June 2, 1956, in Oklahoma City. Edna preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 2010, after 54 years of marriage.
In 1973 he moved his family to Kingston while he traveled back and forth to Oklahoma City for work. He retired in 1993 and made his permanent home in Kingston.
He served as a board member for the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce and he spent the last four years serving the City of Kingston as a council member.
Art was a member of the Presbyterian church in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed his time spent with his family, riding motorcycles, traveling in his RV and researching genealogy with his wife, Edna. He loved basketball season and watching both Kingston boys and girls basketball teams.
He is survived by his children, Tam Scribner and husband Dale of Kingston, and Pam Allen and husband Donnie of Kingston; grandchildren, Dallas Scribner and wife Kaley of Kingston, Rachel Scribner of Kingston, and Sidnee Allen of Kingston; sister Edie Tulloss of San Antonio, Texas; and special friend Dortha Noland of Ardmore.
Art was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four brothers, Lawrence, Glen, Frank and Loyd; and two sisters, Lee and Maxine.

Visitation was held Monday, March 4, 2019, at Watts Funeral Home, Kingston, Oklahoma from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with a family hour from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Services were held Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the at the Watts Funeral Home, Kingston, Oklahoma. Joe Patterson officiated the service. Interment followed at the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Oklahoma.
