Ida Faye Glasgow was born March 4th, 1938 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Shortly after birth she was adopted by her family Faye (Hatchett) and Ray Rowlan. She passed away Saturday, February 27th, 2021 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 23 days.
Ida Faye grew up in Rocky, Oklahoma and graduated from Lake Valley High School in 1956.
After graduation she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma on a softball scholarship. She was later married to Harry Edward Glasgow in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 1, 1961. They made their home in the Oklahoma City metro area for a large portion of their career.
In 1974, after Harry's retirement, they moved to Lake Texoma and then to Falcon Head in 1979 where they spent much of their time on the golf courses in that area.
In the mid 80's they moved south of Elk City where they lived directly across from the 9th hole at the Elk City golf course.
For the better part of 20 years Ida Faye was a member of the Sweet Adeline singing group that traveled around the United States preforming and competing at different venues.
She was also a prefect seamstress making costumes for her Sweet Adeline group and also made clothing for Barbie dolls to send to children. Ida Faye and Harry spent much of their time on the golf course golfing and when not there you could find her with her cats, traveling, on the lake with her family water skiing or being an avid OU fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters, Vinnie Lou Shepherd and Shirley Andrews.
Ida Faye is survived by her son, Neil Glasgow and wife, Debora, Burns Flat, OK; her bonus daughter, Cheri Geroge and husband, Jack, Martinsburg, WV; 5 grandchildren, Jared Schneberger and wife, Crystal, Cory Schneberger and wife, Meredith, April Glasgow, Kyle Glasgow and Brandi Bannister and husband, Keith; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Don Andrews, Brian Andrews, Ray Andrews and Tom Andrews; 2 sisters, Delma Wingo and Sharron Andrews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma officiated by Rev. Kevin Baker. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
