Paulette Marie (Chervenka) Cox, 75, left this world on October 3, 2022, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born September 4, 1947, in Canute, Oklahoma, to Edward and Sophia (Spieker) Chervenka. She was raised as a devout Catholic, a faith that never waivers.

She graduated from Canute High School then went to Washington, D.C. to work for the federal government. After that, she returned to Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, Raymond Cox. They were married in August, 1970. After marriage, they built their family home in Piedmont, Oklahoma.

After both of her children were in school, she started dabbling in a hobby that most would find frustrating, wallpaper hanging. That quickly grew into a successful business. She was always willing to teach family, friends, or anyone the art of hanging wallpaper. While she loved her career, her favorite things in life were being a wife, mom, and “Nana” to her grandchildren.

Many would say she was the most loving and caring person they have ever met.

Her siblings were her best friends. For years they took a trip together on their mother’s birthday which usually involved casinos. She loved going to the casino and we considered her a “professional” gambler.

In her final days she required special care. Much of that was given to her by her niece, Jacque Lerma, who Paulette loved so dearly. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; sisters, LaDonna Burris, Loretta Pearson and Wyoma Spitz. Survivors include her son, Steven Cox and wife Kristin of Piedmont, OK and their daughters, Sophie, Sydnie, and Shalie; daughter, Misty Bringaze and husband Jason of Yukon, OK and their children Connor, Chace, and Rheagan; brother, Norbert Chervenka and wife Teresa, and Lee Edward Chervenka; sisters, Charlene Slaughter, and Mary Ellen Sanders and husband Don; and numerous family and friends.

A special thank you to the doctors and nurses who helped her through her journey.

Funeral Mass was held at 10:00am, Monday, October 10 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, OK. To share a memory or condolence, visit www. mercer-adams.com
