Sept. 6, 1943– April 7, 2023

Alvin (Deter) Combs was born September 6, 1943, in Cordell, OK to Alva and Midge Combs. He died april 7, 2023 at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon at age 79.

Deter lived in Sentinel all of his life and graduated from Sentinel High School in 1961. He then attended Cameron College, where he met and married Mary Linda Monson in June 1962. Together they farmed over 60 years and raised hogs for 25 of these years. In 1977, Deter was named Oklahoma Pork All-American. They raised two sons, Curtis and Cody. During this time, there was a lot of togetherness for the couple and their two sons who worked together in the hog and farming operation.

Deter was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church at 14 years of age.

Deter is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Linda Combs, Sentinel, OK; son: Curtis Combs & Wife, Candy; Brother: Alden Combs & Wife, Judy; Grandchildren: Calan Combs, Copan Combs, and CJ Combs; Step - Grandchildren: Tux Jackson and Toyie Hubbard, and a host of many other family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Alva & Midge Combs, and son, Cody Combs.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Lonestar Cemetery, Rocky, Oklahoma.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Sentinel, Oklahoma.

Family Visitation: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Sentinel, Oklahoma Under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Sentinel, OK
