
Shirley Odessa Meeks was born on April 5, 1942, at her home in Hydro, Oklahoma, to Frank Thomas and Lillie Artis (Lumpkin) Albert. She passed away at her home in Binger, Oklahoma, with her girls at her side, at the age of 74. Shirley attended Eakly High School, and moved to Binger where she has resided. She worked at Hollytex Carpet Mills in Anadarko, as a bookkeeper for Binger Farmers Co-Op Gin, and at 3-M until retiring. Shirley volunteered at the Binger Community Center. She was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed quilting, cooking, shopping, and collecting Coca- Cola memorabilia. She loved being with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Shirley attended the Binger Church of God. Shirley’s survivors include her soul mate of 23 years, Dale Shoptaw of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Terry Meeks of Binger, Oklahoma, Tammy Morris and husband, Marty of Binger, Oklahoma, and Pammy Fowler and husband, Rob of Fairbanks, Alaska; 11 grandchildren, Rikki Sams and husband, Gilbert of San Antonio, Texas, Austin Meeks of Maple Falls, Washington, J.J. Moorehead and wife, Angela of Bridgecreek, Oklahoma, Kim Parker of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, J.D. Martinek of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jessica Huffman of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Jared Morris and wife, Savanna of Binger, Oklahoma, Jeremy Morris and wife, Kaylin of Calumet, Oklahoma, Marti Michelle Morris of Binger, Oklahoma, Sean Fowler of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Kaitlyn Fowler, USAF, Fairbanks, Alaska; seven great grandchildren, Gage, Kaylee, Mahala, Torea, Jacelynn, Hesston, and McKenna; three brothers, Jim Albert of Amarillo, Texas, Don Albert and wife, Lois of Abilene, Texas, and Tommy Albert and wife, Pat of Cordell, Oklahoma; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frankie and Lillie Albert; her son, Deanie Meeks; and her siblings, Travis Albert, Novaline Cross, Bobbie Fern Wise, Willodean Gills, Laverne Herring, and Pat Reeder. Memorial services were held at the Binger Church of God, on Sunday, September 18, 2016, in Binger, Oklahoma, officiated by Reverend Dennis King.
