Roger W. Hurliman

Roger W. Hurliman, 73, passed away in Gilbert, Arizona, on December 28, 2016. Roger was born in Watseka, Illinois, the son of Henry and Edna Hurliman. He was a graduate of Scottsdale High School, and in 1961 married his wife, Carole Jutson in Phoenix, Arizona. Roger worked for the Salt River Project for 36-years, as a supervisor for the electric company. Mr. Hurliman had a passion for animals and enjoyed raising livestock. Over the years, he raised sheep, goats and chickens and had numerous sales of sheep and goats. Roger was a proud board member of both the Maricopa County Fair and the Arizona National Livestock Show. He also loved and supported the 4-H and FFA youth. Roger was preceded in death by his son, Allan K. Hurliman. He is survived by his wife, of 55-years, Carole Hurliman of Chandler, Arizona; his son, Dwayne Hurliman of Cordell, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Holly (Levon) Burch of Cordell, Oklahoma; grandson, Hilton Hurliman of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter, Vera Burch of Cordell, Oklahoma; and his sister, Marleen Upshaw of San Simon, Arizona. Roger was generous in sharing his personal attributes, a giving person who had a wonderful sense of humor. His smile and loving personality will be missed by his family and the many friends he made throughout his lifetime. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the Frisco Center at 101 S. 4th Street, Clinton, Oklahoma 73601. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Edge Church for the building fund. http://theedge.church.
