Alton G. “Nick” Nicholson
Alton G. “Nick” Nicholson, 73, of Cordell, Oklahoma passed away on December 14th, 2017 at his home. He was born on April 15th, 1944 to Corbett and Eva Nicholson in Warren, Arkansas.
Nick came to western Oklahoma in 1964 when he was in the Airforce and stationed in Burns Flat.
Nick graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1974 with a double major in Accounting and Business.
He farmed and worked for over forty years for Washita County driving a road grader. Since retiring he has enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers, walking for his health, and watching hummingbirds.
Since April of 2016, the joy and passion of his life was his grandaughter, Temperance. He was a proud father, an even prouder grandfather and wonderful friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Nick leaves behind two daughters, Audra Duggins and husband James of Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, Christy Ervin andhusband Levi of Cordell, Oklahoma
As well as, their mother Clara Nicholson of Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, one Granddaughter, Temperance Duggins, one Brother, Aaron Nicholson andwife Nelma of Warren, Arkansas, one Sister, Linda Denton of Warren, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbett and Eva Nicholson, an infant brother, A.G. Nicholson and sister, Cathy L. Pope.
Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell, Oklahoma.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma.
