Pearl June Klaassen passed away on January 30, 2018. She was born on November 22, 1937, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to David and Edna Reimer. Throughout her life, she was best known for loyalty to family and friends, an abiding faith, her musical talent, and a great sense of humor. She was intelligent, insightful, and hard working. A graduate of Corn Bible Academy, June went on to receive a Master of Science in Financial Services in later life. She was married to Denver James Klaassen on February 15, 1957, and they had two daughters, Kerry and Leslie. June loved visiting their children and grandchildren as well as traveling, going to China and Europe. She was musically talented, serving as church organist and pianist. She and Denver were longtime members of Metropolitan Baptist Church. June loved her work as a chartered financial consultant, serving on many boards including the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Oklahoma City affiliate of the American Heart Association, the INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center Foundation, and A Chance to Change Foundation. June was a qualifying member of The Million Dollar Round Table for many years as well. She was a governor’s appointee to the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System Board of Directors. She served as president for the Oklahoma chapters of the National Association of Women Business Owners, the American Society of CLU and ChFC, and the Oklahoma Planned Giving Council. She was a nationally published author. June thought carefully before speaking, and when she spoke, people listened. She was a Certified Family Business Specialist (The American College School of Financial Sciences), a Chartered Financial Consultant (The American College), Certified in Long Term Care, and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty McCormick, and her beloved husband, Denver. Survivors include her daughters, Kerry Klaassen Veale of Huntington Beach, California, Leslie Farrington and husband Steven, of Auburn, Alabama; five grandchildren, Rachel and Jay Veale, James, Dyma and Sasha Farrington; sister, Joyce Vogt; and brother, Wayne Reimer. Services to celebrate her life were held Saturday, February 3, 1:00 p.m. at Metropolitan Baptist Church with interment following in Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, Corn, Oklahoma.
