After living a long faithfilled life, Florence Lowayne Scarberry Williams Kidwell Wood is now residing in heaven with our heavenly father. Florence was 96 years old. Her daughters were blessed to be with her when she peacefully passed from this earthly plane on August 15th, 2018. Florence was born on July 11,1922 to whom she believed were the best parents in the world; Emma Pearl (Rumage) and Lemey Bee Scarberry. She married Wallace Steve Williams on November 30th 1940 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Wallace was in the Army and they traveled until he was sent to war. During World War II she helped the war effort working at the Carbon Black plant in Texas. They were married 24 years until his death in 1964. They had six children who also believed they had the best parents in the world. On January 7th, 1971 Florence married Walter Kidwell in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. They were married 14 years. Florence was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Foss, Oklahoma, and thus began her Christian Journey. She spent the last 66 years attending the First Baptist Church in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Florence loved children, in church and in public, she never passed a child without giving them a dollar. Florence loved to mow. Yes, mow. Mow her grass, and she mowed that grass until she was in her late 80’s. At 95 years of age she would say, “ I think if I could just get on that mower, I’d be fine.” Family was everything to her. As the oldest, she loved her five brothers and two sisters dearly. In the later years of her life, she would endlessly say, “I love my children, I don’t know what I’d do without my girls.” Now her children have to do without her but they are rejoicing in the fact that she is with her Savior that she loved so fiercely.
