Obituary: Helene Marie Lovell-McDaniel 95, of Cordell

Helene Marie Lovell-McDaniel, 95, of Cordell, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on May 22, 2020, at the Cordell Christian Home in Cordell. She was born on Jan. 19, 1925, to Amos and Sarah Shreiner.

Helene grew up and attended school in Cloud Chief and graduated from Cloud Chief High School in 1943. She was baptized at the age 13. Helene married her high school sweetheart Earl Lovell in 1943, who preceded her in death. She remarried to Hugh McDaniel in 1978 and he also preceded her in death.

Helene worked for several years at the Cordell Hospital and Cordell Christian Home. She was a wonderful friend to many, many people and lived her life to please her Lord, “helping others.” Helene loved her family dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter Rovena Alexander and husband Lynn of Lexington, Ky.; daughter-in-law Barbara Lovell Poindexter of Port Richey, Fla.; grandchildren Kim King and husband Robby and Kasi Sato and husband Josh, both of Lexington, Ky., Tyler Lovell and wife Amy, Lynn Lovell and wife Stephanie, and John Lovell, all of Abilene, Texas, Toni Kimmel and wife Donna of Cache; great-grandchildren Madison, Bailee, Alexan, Hudson, Duke, Truett, Rylee, Shiloh, Adelynn, Kristie, and Kellie; and many cousins and friends.

Others who preceded in her death are her parents; son Frank Lovell; granddaughter Sonny Marie Lovell; and great-grandson Justin King.

Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2020, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell. Graveside service was at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.
