David Leon Johnson

David Leon Johnson, 77, life long Dill City, Oklahoma resident passed away after his battle with Covid on December 20, 2021 in Durant, Oklahoma.

David was born to Oca and Charlene (Cook) Burton on December 8, 1944 in Thomas, Oklahoma.

After the passing of his father Oca in 1955 he was adopted by Ira Mike Johnson.

He joined the United States Navy in 1961 and proudly served until 1967. David was a die hard cowboy and loved his ranch and raising American Quarter Horses. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by: the mother of his children, Martha L. Jackson, Dill City, OK. Children: Stoney Leon Johnson, Cordell, OK; Bobby Joel Johnson, Dill City, OK; Tammy Lynn Rhoades and husband Jimmy, Sentinel, OK; Rowdy Walter T. Johnson, Dill City, OK; Terrykay Alexis and husband Kenny, Duncanville, TX. Grandchildren: Trucky Joel Johnson, Okmulgee, OK; Levi David Rhoades and wife Ashley, Fort Cobb, OK; Kristan Lankford and husband Chase, Sentinel, OK; Chelsea Rhoades, Weatherford, OK; Sierra Michelle Croy, Blountville, TN; Taylor Blevins, Kingsport, TN; Alexis Marie Carson, Dallas, TX; Odell Carson III “Trey”, Richardson, TX; “Queen Destini” Terrykay Grayer, Richardson, TX. Great-Grandchildren: Jenrti, Blakley,& Landri Rhoades ; Brax, Ackley, & Lowen Lankford; Audrey, David, & Aerith Croy; Kiera Lawson. Siblings: Carolyn “Kay” Plummer, Dill City, OK; Terry Johnson and wife Tammy, Dill City, OK; Beverly Gilstrap, Dill City, OK.Former wife: Diane Johnson, Dill City, OK. Best friend: Debbie Frank, Cordell, OK.He is preceded in death by: his parents Oca Burton, Ira Mike Johnson and Charlene Johnson, and brother Vance Johnson

Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Dec. 23, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church, Dill City. Visitation: 1 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell, Oklahoma.

Interment: South Burns Cemetery, Burns Flat, Oklahoma.
