Memorial services for Judy Kaye Reimer 77 year-old Corn resident will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church at 4:00 P.M with Tim Sandy officiating. Service are being held by Lockstone Funeral Home.
Judy began her beautiful life’s journey on November 27, 1944, in Houston, TX, born to Howard and Jane (Mommy Jane) Smith. She attended various schools as she grew up and moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Northwest Classen in 1963.
She attended Central State College in Edmond for two years when she decided to go to beauty school. She quickly advanced through beauty school where she was often called upon to help instruct the newer students.
She made a living doing hair for nearly 30 years, but she made a life by eventually owning the shop she worked in, building not just a strong client base but even stronger friendships that last to this day.
During that time, she was married to David Clonce, became a mother for the first time to a beautiful baby girl, Marni, and widowed. The next chapter of her love life began when she met and married Gary, who gave her a blessed son, Lance.
While Judy did many things before, she focused on being a farmer’s wife, her greatest joys were found in her family and volunteering with children. She traveled with her family and friends extensively. Judy was not one to sit on the beach and relax; Judy could be found snorkeling, scuba diving and skiing, never turning down an adventure. She loved sewing and was recently called a “beast” on the tennis courts. She had no qualms about beating anyone on those courts, no matter what their age. Judy loved to serve others and would often work with the Awanas and substitute teach. She always said the best part of that was seeing her grandchildren during the day at school.
The things we hope people remember the most about her include her beloved relationships with her sisters. She went to Alabama at least once a year to see Virginia and her family, spent many weekends with sister Francie, and she dearly loved her sister Mary Jane, who passed away earlier in their lives. Their sister tribe reigned chaos and laughter throughout the years, in many locations, at all hours of the day and night.
We want you to remember the unconditional love she had for Gary in their nearly 50 years of marriage, their children and their grandchildren. Every meal together was an occasion marked by multiple desserts and recipes passed down through their families. New members of the family would eat large dinners the first time meeting the family, only to be told there was 2 or 3 desserts to add to their full bellies. Her life was dedicated to her family and she found purpose in making life easier and better for those around her. There was no end to her selfless giving.
Finally, we want you to remember the light her smile brought into every room she entered; the way her eyes would brighten when she was around the people she loved, and the way her laughter would heal your soul.
Judy is survived by her husband, Gary of their home in Corn; daughter, Marni Reimer, of the home; son, Lance Reimer and wife, Shelby, of Corn; sister, Virginia Nicholson, of Hartselle, Alabama; sister, Francie Jones of Glenpool; grandchildren Chase Dalla Rosa and fiancé Claire, Savanna Reimer and fiancé C.J., Olivia Reimer, Tristen Reimer, Josh, Jared and Jensen White; as well as a joyful abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
