
Mattie Fay Boggs was born March 13, 1926, in Washita County on the family farm southeast of Cordell, to William and Leora (Dyer) Robinson and passed away June 2, 2016, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Pat was raised on the family farm and attended school in Rocky, Oklahoma. As a young child Mattie had an uncle who gave her the nick-name “Pat” and she has been known as Pat to everyone since. On November 30, 1956, Mattie married the love of her life, Roy Boggs. They were married for a little over 59 years before Roy’s death in January 2016. They made their home in Cordell and raised their family there. Pat worked several years as a seamstress at the Patricia Shop and Lawrence’s Department Store. She also worked many years beside her husband and family in their farming operation. Pat enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends but her grandchildren and great-grandchild were the highlight of her day. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Boggs in January 2016; and four brothers and three sisters. Pat is survived by daughter, Kathy Ervin and husband, Danny of Weatherford; son, Donnie Boggs of Cordell; brother, Glen Robinson of Kingston, Arkansas; grandchildren, Cory Ervin and wife, Stefanie; Scott Ervin and wife, Seon; Cody Ervin; Don Ervin; Ben Ervin; great-grandson Conner Ervin; and a host of dear family and friends. Services for Mattie “Pat” Boggs were held Monday June 6, 2016, at Lawnview Cemetery with Ronnie Mckee officiating. Services were under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home of Cordell.
