Dolora worked at Booster Bags, Kellwoods and also as an Administrative Assistant with the Department of Human Services. Mildred Christine Anthony, or Chris as she was known by many, was born January 23, 1926, and passed away on November 3, 2016. Chris was raised in Arkansas with four sisters and seven brothers. She ended up moving to California, where she met and married Tony Anthony. Chris was a waitress for most of her life, and loved every minute of it, until they moved to Oklahoma in 1979, to help son, Darryl Anthony, with the 41 Motel, as head of housekeeping and doggie babysitter. Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Anthony. She is survived by her son, Darryl Anthony of Cordell, and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Bonnie Mae Horn
Bonnie Mae Horn, 93, of Cordell, Oklahoma, died on Monday, November 7, 2016, in Corn, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 11, 2016, at the Herold Mennonite Church, in Bessie, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Herold Mennonite Cemetery. Brenda Karol (Holman) Messenger
Brenda Karol (Holman) Messenger, 60, went to heaven Saturday, October 29, 2016, with family by her side at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brenda was born in Sentinel, Oklahoma, on November 5, 1955, to Laverne (Chambers) Holman Lundy and Ben Holman. She graduated from Cordell High School in 1974. Brenda attended the University of Central Oklahoma following high school. After graduating from Paul's Cosmetology in Oklahoma City, Brenda worked in Oklahoma City and Cordell. She moved to South Fork, Colorado, in 1985, where she met her future husband. Brenda married Russ Messenger August 29, 1986, in South Fork, Colorado. They lived in South Fork, until 1988, when they relocated and made their home in Las Vegas. Brenda was the mother of two daughters, Kelli and Lindsey. She was an exceptional mother and would tell you her proudest accomplishment was raising her girls. Brenda was active in spreading awareness for Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, that was very dear to her heart. Helen Brown
Helen was born in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Edith and Frank Treadway on February 3, 1932. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Elk City.
Helen loved animals growing up, especially kittens. She also enjoyed children and was a great protector of children. Helen also enjoyed cooking, gardening, travel, nature and coffee and cake, along with warm family conversations.
She was a very loving parent and did all she could to help her children. .
Helen married Laverne Frank Schneberger at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Sayre.
They farmed in the Burns Flat area and raised their children there. They attended St. Francis Church and Holy Family Church in Canute.
Later, they attended St. Mathew's Catholic Church in Elk City, before she moved to Yukon.
She graduated LPN school with top honors in Burns Flat, in 1971, and began her career as a nurse working in Clinton.
Helen then moved to Yukon and worked at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She later married Merlyn Brown and they had one son, Michael Wayne. After moving to Yukon she attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Frank Treadway; her late husband, Laverne Frank Schneberger; and son, Michael Frank Schneberger.
She is survived by nine children, Martin Schneberger and wife, Cathy of Elk City, Vickey Dudgeon and husband, Terry of Norman, Glen Schneberger and wife, Mary of Weatherford, Larry Schneberger of Elk City, Greg Schneberger and Dianne of Calumet, Toni Brinkley of Norman, Kent Schneberger of Yukon, Brent Schneberger of Dallas, Texas, and Michael Brown of Yukon; brothers, Frank Treadway and Lonnie Treadway; 20 grandchildren, Russell Schneberger, Christina Whitmere, Richard Schneberger, Candra Davis, Sean Dudgeon, Kyle Dudgeon, Stacy Robertson, Rita Ridenour, Josh Schneberger, Kelly Esteves, Abbra Green, Breanna Ballard, Jeremiah Schneberger, Cindy Hightower, Martina Schneberger, Melissa Fong, Andrew Schneberger, Natalie Schneberger, Zachary Brown, Abbey Brown; and 23 greatgrandchildren.

Bonnie Mae Horn
Bonnie Mae Horn was born March 28, 1923, to Paul and Rhea (Rogers) Bookout at Achille, Oklahoma.
In 1933, Bonnie lost both of her parents. She, with two brothers and two sisters, went to live at the Children's Home in Tipton, Oklahoma.
While Bonnie was living in Tipton she attended a revival, meeting and accepting Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized.
In 1941, Bonnie went to live with the Hueberts of Corn. It was while living in Corn and working in a cotton field that she met the love of her life.
She and Henry Preacher Horn were married on July 21, 1943, at the Herold Mennonite Church.
Bonnie always had bread or cinnamon rolls baking and was very generous with family and friends who came to visit.
They never left hungry or empty handed. She always had a welcoming smile and a kind word for everyone. Bonnie will be missed by all who knew her.
Bonnie’s survivors include son, Charles and wife, Paula Horn; daughters, Joyce Darnell, and Phyllis and husband, David Wiersig; grandchildren, Christie and husband, David Parks, Kevin Horn, Chad and wife, Nicole Horn, Julie and Mike Szekerczes, Dean and wife, Amanda Darnell, and Josh and wife, Brook Wiersig; six grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of dear family and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Henry Preacher Horn, in 1992; two brothers; two sisters; and son-in-law Raymond Darnell.

Annie Mae Grubbs
Annie Mae Grubbs, 93, passed away November 11, 2016, at Autumn Leaves Memory Care Facility in Oklahoma City.
She was born May 3, 1923, in Soper, Oklahoma, the oldest daughter of 11 children of Andrew Jackson Nowell and Girtha H. Roden Nowell.
Annie Mae’s family moved to Greer County, Oklahoma, where she met and married John A. Grubbs on July 29, 1943.
Annie Mae and John then moved to Cordell, where Annie Mae lived until after her 90th birthday, when she then required assisted living.
At the urging of her children, Annie Mae retired at the age of 80 from her job, at Clinton- Sherman, with her maintenance corporation.
Annie Mae had worked at various jobs, ranging from sewing for the public, to owning grocery stores, and to having a maintenance corporation.
She always understood the value of hard work. Annie Mae served the Lord joyfully and was a member of the Cordell First United Methodist Church, where she attended until her move to Oklahoma City.
Annie Mae inspired everyone with her love, her faith, her smile, and her strong determination to persevere through life’s struggles.
She loved watching her Sooners, her Dallas Cowboys, and her Oklahoma City Thunder.
Her hobbies were gardening, quilting, crocheting, and sewing.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, John; her oldest child, Phyllis; two infants; brothers, Colvin, Stanley, Hall, and Frank Nowell; and sisters, Ida Vinson, Dollie Banks, and Betty McAlexander.
She is survived by children, Joey (Cindy) Grubbs, Tim (Leslie) Grubbs, Diane (Toby) Thompson, Dennis Grubbs, and Lisa Austin; brother, Roy (Bettye) Nowell; sisters, Edith Grubbs and Peggy Sanchez; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Cordell First United Methodist Church, followed by burial at Jester Cemetery in Greer County.

Brenda J. Weber
Brenda J. Weber, 59, passed away November 10, 2016. She was born October 7, 1957, to Norman and Betty (Connors) Thiessen of Hobart, Oklahoma.
Brenda attended school and graduated from Hobart. She married Kenny Lee Gray on December 21, 1976, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2002.
Brenda found the love of her life, Bobby Weber, and they were married September 20, 2003, in Cordell, Oklahoma. She spent the last 35 years working for the Rocky Co-op.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Bobby Weber of the home; three brothers, Keith Thiessen and wife, Kay of Hobart, Oklahoma, Kenneth Thiessen of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Kevin Thiessen and wife, Tina of Apache, Oklahoma; nieces, Ashley Thiessen of Apache, Oklahoma, and Kallie Thiessen of Apache, Oklahoma; nephews, Skyler Thiessen of Apache, Oklahoma; Kyle Thiessen of Apache, Oklahoma, and Jarrod Thiessen and wife, Crystal of Apache, Oklahoma; and great nephews, Tristen, Tanner, and Brayden all of Apache, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Betty Thiessen, and husband, Kenny Lee Gray.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Salem Baptist Church in Rocky, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home.
Larry Lynn Price
Larry Lynn Price, 78, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on November 6, 2016.
He was born October 22, 1938, to Philip and Vineta (Haggard) Price in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Larry grew up in Washita County but, for the last 13 years, he's lived in Pensacola, Florida.
In his early years he worked for Shell Oil Company and Texas Instruments, then spent the rest of the time farming and ranching.
Larry adored his family and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and working in his yard.
He also loved watching sports and was a devoted OU fan. Larry was a collector of a variety of things such as sports memorabilia, arrow heads, and loved researching genealogy and watching old western movies.
His survivors include his wife, Joanne Price of Pensacola, Florida; three daughters, Mica Apple and husband, David of Pensacola, Florida, Vicki Price of Pensacola, Florida, and Kristi Price of Pensacola, Florida; seven grandchildren; and 13 great -grandchi l - dren, with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by parents, Philip and Vineta Price; one brother; Gary Glen Price; and one granddaughter, Faith Apple.

Dean Frank Smith
Dean Frank Smith, 85, a longtime resident of rural Welch, Oklahoma, passed away November 16, 2016, at his daughters home in Cordell, Oklahoma, after a short illness.
Dean was born May 22, 1931, in Sac Township, Iowa, to Ed Smith and Elzora (Ingraham) Smith.
He was raised by his Aunt Mabel and Uncle Matt Dye, and was later adopted by Mabel in his late teens.
Dean always knew Mabel as his mother and his children knew her as grandma.
He was a graduate of Fairland High School. Dean attended NEO A&M College then he continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where he received his Master’s Degree.
He attended Pitt (Pittsburg) State where he obtained his Science and Chemistry Degree.
Dean taught elementary school in Granby, Missouri.
On July 3, 1952, Dean married the love of his life, Dorthy Lavern Colleen Thomas.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
After returning from the military, he taught in Moline, Kansas, before returning to Welch, where he taught Science and Chemistry for 36 years.
For a number of years, while many teachers were enjoying summer break, Dean would take additional classes at Pittsburg State and other campuses throughout his career to continually further his education.
Dean and Dorthy enjoyed 58 years of marriage.
Dean was a longtime member of the Welch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and music leader.
He loved spending time with his family and teaching the importance of a good education.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister, and three brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Tim Smith and wife, Joie and Jeff and wife, Rebecca all of Welch; one daughter, Colleen and husband, Keith of Cordell; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held Sunday, November 20, 2016, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch.
Services were held Monday, November 21, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., also at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel.
Pastor Sam Garner officiated. Pallbearers were Tim, Jeff, Will, Charles, and Caston Smith, Colt Young and Matt Teal. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 147.

Travis Ray Teel was born April 10, 1922, to Willis H. and Rosa E. Kimmel Teel, in Cordell, Oklahoma. He attended school in Port, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942- 1944. Travis married Lilly Durland September 15, 1943, and to this union was born one daughter, Vickie Lou. Lilly passed away in 1949. Travis married Vena Werhan on May 17, 1951. Travis and Vena had two boys, Gary Dean and Mark Wayne. Travis farmed for more than 50 years in the Retrop, Chickasha, and Dill City areas. He also worked at the cotton compress in Chickasha for a number of years. Travis was a member of the Plains Avenue Church of Christ and served as an elder for many years. Reta May Wagner
Reta May (Wrather) Wagner passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, at South Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Reta was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on February 2, 1946, to Wayne Eugene Wrather and Bonita Faye (Taliaferro) Wrather.
She married Robert “Bob” Wagner on July 21, 1963. Bob and Reta raised their three children in Piedmont, Oklahoma.
After living in California, Hawaii, Florida, Washington D.C., and finally Bermuda, Bob and Reta retired and worked a small ranch in Gore, Oklahoma.
Reta worked as a secretary in the early years of their marriage and later was a homemaker.
After the kids left for college, Reta enjoyed working as a florist.
She enjoyed her family, friends, reading, flowers, and crafts. While the kids were in 4-H, Reta was very busy as a 4-H leader, and helping the kids with their projects and animals.
Reta is survived by her husband, Bob Wagner of Gore, Oklahoma; a daughter, Ruth Ann and Bill Stringer of Owasso, Oklahoma; two sons, Robert and Janet Wagner of Wylie, Texas, and Ron and Nicky Wagner of Canyon Country, California; eight grandchildren, Cooper, Colton and Connor Ward all of Owasso, Oklahoma, Ashton and Criston Wagner both of Wylie, Texas, and Ryan, Miranda and Dakota Wagner all of Canyon Country, California; a brother, Eddy and Jeanie Wrather of Canute, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at the Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel, 600 W. Country Club, Elk City, Oklahoma, Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.

Eleanor Williams
Eleanor Williams of Cordell, Oklahoma, was born August 2, 1935, in Geary, Oklahoma, to Enos and Etta Lucille (Copeland) Zweiacher.
She peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, at her home surrounded by family, on December 6, 2016, at the age of 81.
Eleanor attended school and graduated high school from Geary, Oklahoma.
On June 27, 1954, Eleanor married the love of her life, O.H. Williams, at the Mennonite Church in Geary.
In 1968, O.H. and Eleanor moved their family to Cordell.
Eleanor loved to garden. If friends or family needed to find her they knew to always check the garden first.
Nothing on this earth could top the love Eleanor had for her family, especially her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; husband O.H. Williams in 2015; and brother John David Zweiacher.
Eleanor is survived by a son, Roger Lee Williams of Tahlequah; daughters, Cindy and Dennis Green of Pauls Valley, Sherry and Robert Kent of Duncan, and Cathy and Steve Buzzard of Stillwater; grandchildren, Wayne and Kristi Williams, Weston and Ginger Williams, Wyatt and Brittany Williams, Kenneth and Winona Green, Suzanne Green, Eric Kent, and Meagan and Joshua Meadows; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifton Zweiacher, Norman and June Zweiacher, and Robert and Tammy Zweiacher; sisters, Elizabeth Greenwood, Elaine and Larry Jolliff, and Esther and Terry Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Jeffrey Glenn Kupka
Jeffrey Glenn Kupka was born September 7, 1964, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Viloa Dorothy and Gerald Wayne Kupka. He passed away December 17, 2016, at Canute, Oklahoma, at the age of 52 years, three months and ten days. Jeffrey was a loving husband and father. His family was his pride and joy. He worked in the oilfield for many years and purchased his own truck and founded Kupka Trucking. Jeffrey graduated from Canute High School in 1982. He worked construction and then moved into trucking. He met the love of his life, Julie Spitz, and they were married on June 23, 1989. After their marriage they lived in Canute for four years and moved to the farm south of Canute in June of 1993. He was preceded in death by his father, two uncles, two nieces, one nephew, and one brother-in-law. Gregory Alan Cooksey was born January 9, 1970, and went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2016. Greg was born to the late Billy Wayne Cooksey and Kathern Darline Cooksey. He grew up for awhile in Atoka, and later the family moved to Oklahoma City. At the age of 17 Greg joined the Army where he served for five years. Greg learned to play drums, bass and acoustic guitar. He was a jack of all trades, working all kinds of jobs. While working at the Hobart Sale Barn, he was kicked by a cow and became disabled, leaving him unable to work. In 2001, Greg met his soul mate and best friend, Alma Srock, they were later married on March 21, 2003. Greg was a fun loving and happy go lucky kind of guy, who never met a stranger. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, fishing and just hanging out with his friends and family. Greg was the happiest when his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren were around. He will be loved and missed by a host of family and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Kathern Cooksey and one sister, Stella Eardman. Greg is survived by his wife, Alma Srock Cooksey of the home; four brothers, Donnie Cooksey and wife, Sandi of Oklahoma City, Johnie Nicar and wife, Tammie of Texas, Brian Cooksey and wife, Marcy of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Steven Patton and wife, Martha Srock Patton of Burns Flat; two sons, Rob and wife, Chariti Cooksey of Woodward, and Joshua Cooksey of Burns Flat; two daughters, Tesa Kaskaske of Vici, and Kathern Cooksey and fiance, Marcus Alcantar of Cordell; three grandsons; six granddaughters; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Greg maybe gone but, HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church in Dill City with Reverend Carl Thionnet officiating. Services were under the direction of Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home.
Grace Genevra Luekenga
Funeral services for Grace Genevra Luekenga, 86 yearold Colony, Oklahoma resident, were held Monday, December 26, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., in the Colony Church of Christ. Burial followed in the Bethany Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Grace Genevra (Richmond) Luekenga was born in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, on September 9, 1930, to H.W. and Marjorie “Midge” (Hawkins) Richmond. She passed away Friday, December 23, 2016, at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma.
Grace moved to Colony at the age of three and was raised in the Colony area. She attended school in Colony.
Grace had fond memories of mixing and baking cakes with her mother and grandmother Grace.
She also liked to reminisce about riding into town with her daddy in a horse drawn wagon, and later in a Model A Ford.
Grace married her sweetheart, Loy Luekenga in Dill City, Oklahoma, March 7, 1948.
Their very special, life-long friends, Leland and Mary Lee Crissman were the best man and matron of honor at their wedding.
Grace and Loy made their home northeast of Colony for many years before moving to town in 1972.
She was baptized and was a life-long member of the Colony Church of Christ.
Grace continued her mother and grandmother’s legacy and love of baking into a catering business.
She catered and baked birthday, wedding, and anniversary cakes for 34 years.
One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One of the grandchildren’s most precious memories is lining up to get icing on each finger as MeMaw was icing cakes.
Grace loved the holidays, and looked forward to spending time with family and friends.
She also loved to throw parties, and everyone was welcome! Grace will also be remembered for being a very giving person.
It didn’t matter what she had going on, she would prepare food to take to those who were sick or had lost loved ones.
Grace is survived by her husband of 68 years, Loy Luekenga of Colony, Oklahoma; two daughters, Sandra Dickerson and her husband, Danny of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Karen Epperly and her husband, Raymond of Colony, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Angie Dickerson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kristi Gabriel of Edmond, Oklahoma, Amber Lawles and her husband, Jason of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Brad Epperly of Orange, California; great-grandchildren, Bayli, Bentli and Blayke Lawles, and Gavin and Grant Gabriel; special nephew, Mark Richmond and his children, Atticus, Gemma, and Beckham Richmond all of Austin, Texas; and one brother, Lloyd Richmond and his wife, Eva Dean of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents, H.W. and Marjorie Richmond; and one brother, Jerry Richmond.
Archie Gene Flaming
Funeral services for Archie G. Flaming, 88, Corn resident, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016, in the North Side Church of Christ in Cordell, Oklahoma, officiated by Kenneth Jones.
Burial followed in the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Archie Gene Flaming was the second son born to Otto and Marianna (Penner) Flaming on June 20, 1928, on the River Farm which was two miles north and two mile east of Cloud Chief, Oklahoma.
He passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016, in the Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma.
Archie was raised in Cloud Chief and walked two miles each way to attend Grandview School where he learned to speak English, because his parents used Plautdietsch (Low German) in the home.
He had many good times during the summer in the big swimming hole on the Washita River.
In 1938, they moved to the Sunnyside Farm located two and half miles north and one east of Cloud Chief.
Archie started the eighth grade at the Corn Public School where he enjoyed sports. He graduated from Corn High School in 1946.
In September he developed a high fever and was hospitalized with Rheumatic Fever. It took him six months to recover.
Archie enjoyed going on wheat harvest with Henry Penner and Walt Krewall.
He was drafted in the Army, in 1950, and proudly served his country in Whittier, Alaska, during the Korean War.
Archie married Marie Weese on April 17, 1953, at Carlsbad, New Mexico. They established a home in Cordell, Oklahoma.
Archie worked on a Seismograph crew and snapped cotton, until he went to work in 1955, with his Uncle Art Penner, as a mason laying brick and block.
He continued in that profession for 20 years. During those years he enjoyed participating on a bowling league.
Also, he was an avid fisherman and spent many vacations on the White River at Bullshoals, Arkansas.
In 1975, he retired from laying brick and went into farming with his brother, Bert.
His wife of 34 years, Marie, past away on Archie’s birthday June 20, 1987.
He married his first wife’s cousin, Lois (Stoiy) Smith on October 9,1987. One year after their marriage his wife’s health started deteriorating.
Archie devoted his time, until her death in 2009, caring for her.
Since her death, he has traveled extensively making trips to all the western states, including Alaska, twice.
In 2011, at the age of 83, he started having coffee with a beautiful lady, Velma Hoock, from Corn, Oklahoma.
This relationship blossomed into a loving companionship for both of them. They would go out to lunch at the Colony Cafe and shop at Walmart together.
In 2014, because of declining health, Archie sold his home in Cordell and moved into an apartment at the Corn Heritage Village (CHV).
Soon Velma also moved to an apartment at CHV where they enjoyed spending time together until Velma’s death in 2015.
Archie has been a long time member of the North Side Church of Christ, Cordell, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto S. and Marianna (Penner) Flaming; his first wife, Marie (Weese) Flaming; and second wife, Lois (Story) Flaming.
Archie is survived by his stepson, Don and wife, Kathy Smith of Norman, Oklahoma; step-granddaughter, Cherri and husband, Wayne Atkins of Double Oak, Texas; two step-great-granddaughters; two brothers, Emery and wife, Leota Flaming of Moore, Oklahoma, and G. Bert and wife, Judy Flaming of Corn, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald B. Piercey
Ronald B. Piercey, Cordell, died on December 25, 2016, at the age of 85. Funeral services are pending under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home of Cordell, Oklahoma.
