Joyce Laverne Lockwood was born on April 27, 1928, to Naomi and William Campbell at their home in Port. She was the youngest of 13 children. She had three daughters Johnna Harrington and Patricia Duffield. Johnna gave her a grand-daughter, Shelley Fortin and Patricia Duffield gave her Penny Rose, who would become her daughter, Tammy Nichols and Jonnetta Johnson. She played a mother’s part to Tammy and Jonnetta. These children gave her many grandchildren, She worked her whole life and retired from the City of Cordell. She loved to go on country miles. She would always find a rock to bring home. Everyone that knew her loved her. Her motto was always to get up, clean up and start your day. She brought such joy to everyone of us. Her legacy is her children, who she called all her little chickens. She adored her big beautiful family. She was a person that never turned a person away, there was always room at Wawa’s house. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church in Dill City, Oklahoma. Burial followed at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma. Services were under the direction of Musick-Varner. great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. Her family was the most important part of her life. She loved all of her family. We celebrate her life with honor and love for the unique and amazing person she was. She worked her whole life and retired from the City of Cordell.
