Billy Hamlett, 72, of Hobart, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016. He was born on March 8, 1944, in Simpson, Oklahoma, to William Richard and Alma (Jackson) Hamlett. As a child he grew up around and attended schools in the Roosevelt area. Billy married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Gilley, on July 5, 1964 in Hobart, Oklahoma. They were married for 49 years, until she preceded him in death on May 23, 2014. Billy worked for Braun and Son Implement since 1965. He was a master versatile mechanic second to none. Billy is survived by three sons, Daniel Hamlett and wife, Tracy of Dill City, Oklahoma; David Hamlett and wife, Vickie of Hobart, Oklahoma; and James Hamlett and wife, Laurie of Hobart, Oklahoma; one daughter, Tammy Hamlett of Hobart, Oklahoma; three brothers, J.D. Hamlett; Delbert Hamlett and wife, Linda; and Floyd Hamlett and wife, Robin; one sister, Ann Maxey and husband, Randy; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Hamlett; his parents; two brothers, Troy Hamlett and Elbert Hamlett; and two sisters, Faye Hamlett and Mary Schrock. Funeral services for Billy Hamlett will be held at the Calvary Life Assembly of God church in Hobart at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Reverend Joe Jackson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home.
