Elton Leroy Christian

Elton Leroy Christian, 93, of Dill City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2017. He was born on June 1, 1924, to Gus and Lillian (Marriott) Christian in Forty One, Oklahoma. Elton attended school at Port and graduated from Dill City. He met and married the love of his live, Della Jo Green, on May 20, 1944, in the Alexander home near Rocky. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2014. Elton was a farmer and rancher. He drove a semi-truck for Garland Black for many years, taking locally grown crops to market. Then he drove a propane truck from 1972 to 2011. He began employment for Margaret Carpenter, John Strange and Beck & Root. Elton was a longtime member of the Dill City First Baptist Church and was an ordained Deacon where he served in various positions and committees. Elton was also a member of the Holiday rambler R.V. Club. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Elton is survived by two sons, Steve Christian and wife Linda of Dill City, Oklahoma, and Dave Christian and wife Judy of Dill City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Charlotte Stehr and husband Norman of Clinton, Oklahoma; seven Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; Two Great-Great Grandchildren; One brother-in-law, Gale Klump of Clinton, Oklahoma; and one sister-in-law, Opal Lee Noble of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Della Jo Christian; three brothers, Kenneth, Archie and Leland Christian; brother-in-law John Noble, and sister-in-law Mollie Klump. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Dill City, Oklahoma. Interment will be at the South Burns Cemetery in Dill City, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home of Cordell. Flowers or donations can be sent to the First Baptist Church, P.O.
