Lynn Delbert Richey

Lynn Delbert Richey, 92, of Cowden, Oklahoma, passed away July 1, 2016. He was born on March 1, 1924, in Agawam, Oklahoma, to Jeffrey H. Richey and Sallie Mc-Clellan Richey. Delbert lived most of his life in the Cowden community where he met and married the love of his life, Laura Etta Woodruff on March 17, 1945. His occupation was farming, but he also ran the Cowden Co-Op Station for 26 years. Delbert was a World War II Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger. He will be remembered for his deep love of family and friends. Delbert is survived by three daughters, Annetta Newton and husband, Von of Newcastle, Oklahoma; Verdeana Weidenmaier and husband, Richard of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and Delma Lamb and husband, Keith of Newcastle, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Richey Stovall and wife, Jennifer; Deana Ramsey and husband, Jack; James Weidenmaier and wife, Christy; Brent Lamb and wife, Summer; Jeffrey Lamb and wife, Laura; and Charlie Lamb; ten great-grandchildren, Richey Dilynn Stovall, Carter Stovall, Avery Ramsey, Jaxon Lamb, Cooper Lamb, Asher Lamb, Katelynn Lamb, Conner Lamb, Brayden Lamb, and Annabelle Weidenmaier; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura Etta; daughter, Mary Lynn; brother, William “Pinky” Richey; and sister, Juanita Newton. Services for Delbert will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Sappington Chapel Cemetery Cowden, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home.
